AOI Oregon Business Report On the 2009 Legislative Session is Ready

After the Legislature dismissed the AOI-led Alliance of Oregon's Business Associations' temporary, broad-based taxation proposal, the AOI Board of Directors voted to take a leading role in rolling back the punitive, excessive and permanent tax increases passed by the Legislature. We believe this tax increase hurts private sector job retention and creation in Oregon; it also further erodes Oregon's competitive position as an attractive place in which to invest and do business.

We ask that you join the rapidly growing list of AOI members and individual Oregonians opposed to these tax increases and protection of public employee jobs at the expense of private sector jobs; and, we ask you to consider supporting the campaign to defeat these tax increases with your financial participation.

You can participate two ways:

JOIN THE CAMPAIGN TO SIGN AND RETURN THE PETITIONS BEFORE SEPTEMBER 25

Help obtain the 55,179 valid signatures needed from Oregon voters to put these tax increases on the ballot. Petition 301 is to put the individual tax increase before voters. Petition 302 is to put the corporate tax increase before the voters. In using the e-petitions, remember that only one elector can sign the e-petition and that's the person who actually clicked to cause the e-petition sheet to be printed. The e-petition can only be printed on white paper and they can't be circulated

CONTRIBUTE TO THE AOI-PAC

Each dollar of contribution will ensure the success of our efforts to gather enough signatures to put these tax hikes in front of Oregon voters as well as mount a campaign to defeat the tax increases. If you don't help, these tax hikes will automatically become law.

Making a contribution to the AOI Prosperity PAC is easy: http://buy.aoi.org. Or download and print out the contribution form and make your contribution payable to AOI PROSPERITY PAC. Whether it's $100 or $5,000, we need your support. If you need more information, please contact J.L. Wilson or call 503-588-0050.
